Loomis Wedding: Kelly and Matt 12-4-10

They met through a mutual friend. It was a warm summer day and they both were invited over for a barbecue. The moment he met her he was smitten. Kelly thought he was cute, but not sure she was interested in anything more than a friendship. Well, later in the evening Kelly was sitting around the fire, chatting it up with Matt and a couple friends. He couldn't help but smile at her through the sparks, and before she knew it he had moseyed up a bit closer and offered to give her a foot massage. Well, it was at that moment she gave him a second thought and soon sparks of their own flew.

Fast forward two years... a beautiful Christmas Wedding with a Cowboy twist! What a great couple and what a fun wedding.

Family Portrait Party

It's time! Time to start thinking about the yearly Christmas card. My good friend Marta, of Marta Marie Photography and I held a Holiday Portrait Party. We had several families sign up for this fun event. It was such a pleasure to photograph these beautiful faces. Here's a few of my favorites.

Santa Barbara Wedding: John & Gaelyn 10-9-10

So, I wasn't the hired photographer for this wedding, but it didn't stop me from taking photos. This was the wedding of my husband's nephew, John. He and his bride, Gaelyn, entered a contest on Rock-n-Roll Bride for a chance to win the services of Love Me Do Photography out of Philadelphia, PA. Well, they WON! Photographers Carina and Amanda were fabulous. I love their work. Check out the pics here and here.

This wedding was absolutely beautiful. Gaelyn is a Graphic Design Artist, so needless to say, every little detail was covered. John is also an artist so his insight was also essential. These two are absolutely perfect for each other, and their Wedding Day was the perfect reflection of who they are and the love they share.

Check out their wedding film on their website What We Do Films!

Hope you enjoy these photos...

Roseville Wedding: Whitney & AJ 06-27-10

It was a hot summer day in June. AJ was anticipating the arrival of his beautiful bride, Whitney. He literally jumped up and down with excitement saying "I can't wait to see her. I can't wait for her to be my wife". He was ready to be her rock, her provider, her husband, and love for life. His unshakable commitment and support for her and their life together was like a fresh breeze on that hot, hot day. Whitney was a bit late, yet very laid back and ready for that walk down the isle. She had to have been one of the most beautiful, brides I've seen. Not just her physical beauty, but her quiet confidence that shone from within, and her laid back attitude that was obviously one of her strongest traits. Case in point... when the wedding dress was brought in and I began photographing it, I noticed that the plastic security tag was still affixed to the dress. I quickly called the store that sold her the dress and requested that an employee come to the church to remove the tag. I then went to the bride's room and informed her of the faux pas. Her response was "Oh ok, no problem". She had to be the calmest bride I've ever encountered. She continued with her preparations and embraced her time with her bridesmaids until the store employee arrived and graciously removed the tag. Whitney's calmness and AJ's strength in character will be the foundation to embrace all that life will bring them. Thanks AJ and Whitney for letting me photograph this day for you. I felt honored.
